Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: February 10, 2026

The Originality Research Lab is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Originality Research Lab website and scanner tool are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, though we actively work to remediate these areas.

Assessment Approach

The Originality Research Lab assessed the accessibility of this website by the following approaches:

  • Self-evaluation: Conducted internally using automated tools (WAVE, Axe) and manual keyboard navigation testing.
  • External Evaluation: Periodic audits by volunteer academic partners using assistive technologies (NVDA, VoiceOver).

Technical Specifications

Accessibility of our forensic tools relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML5
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

Accessibility Features Implemented

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements, including the scanner input and action buttons, are fully navigable using the Tab key. Focus indicators are clearly visible.

Color Contrast

Text and background colors meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for standard text, ensuring readability for users with low vision.

Screen Reader Support

We utilize semantic HTML and ARIA labels (e.g., `aria-label`, `role=”alert”`) to ensure screen readers correctly interpret dynamic content like scan results.

Zoom & Scaling

The layout is responsive and supports browser zooming up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the Originality Research Lab, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

  • Dynamic Analysis Overlay: The progress bar animation during the scan may not be fully announced by older screen readers. We provide a static text status update (“Scanning…”) as a fallback.
  • PDF Reports: Legacy PDF reports generated prior to 2024 may lack proper tagging structure. We are currently migrating these to HTML-based reports.

Feedback & Support
